Sarah is the definition of a DAISY Award Nurse. She has gone above and beyond many times for her patients, but this time she has gone way above and beyond! While caring for a patient who's been in the hospital for an extended period of time, she has gotten to know the patient's roommate that visits frequently and needs assistance as well. The patient expressed worry about her friend that had not been able to get a hold of all day.
After working her long twelve-hour shift, and with the patient's permission accompanied by the local police department, Sarah went to the patient's house, had to climb through a window to see if the friend/roommate was there. This became a Silver Alert, and the police department was able to find this person who was lost in a field on a cold night! If the care and concern of Sarah, a wonderful nurse, had not been there to follow through this may have ended tragically. Sarah's heart and love of her patients I admire and strive to mimic.
