Sarah was nominated for going out of her way to explain a frightening diagnosis to a patient's family. After the physician gave a diagnosis to the patient and her family members, they were left shocked and confused. As Sarah came into the room to complete care for the patient, she noticed their state of devastation.
We had so many questions regarding the diagnosis," the patient's daughter-in-law explained in a nomination letter. "But Sarah was so compassionate. She said she understood how difficult it is to hear a diagnosis that is so frightening. She gave us hope by giving us knowledge. We felt so much better after speaking with her."
