Sarah went above and beyond and I am so grateful for what she did. I was waiting to have a heart monitor put in before I could be released and my son’s graduation was the same night. My procedure time continued to get pushed back as they were very busy. When Sarah found out that I was going to miss the ceremony if I did not get out of there soon, she sprung into action. She called down to the lab, got me on the schedule, and assured me I’d be home in time. She took me to the lab herself, had other staff start discharge process, and had my papers ready when I return from procedure. She then clearly and carefully went through discharge orders and explained importance of medication, follow-ups, signing up for live well app, etc. before I left. She proceeded to wheel me down to my waiting ride. I made it home in time to shower, while my ride went to pharmacy to get meds for next day.

Sarah recommended sending someone before pharmacy closed because, she explained, it is dangerous to stop this particular medication (metoprolol). I arrived in time to see my son graduate and would not have been there had it not been for her quick actions and leadership. To make matters worse, my wife tested positive for Covid as she tested because others attending the festivities are immune-compromised and she could not attend. Without Sarah’s help, neither of us would have been in attendance.
