I felt Sarah was my advocate. She explained what I did not understand and helped me with any needs. She made sure I was sitting up and moving as much as I could, even when I didn’t want to but knew I should. She explained the procedures that I would need done to my wife and showed her how it’s done.

From the moment my family and I met Sarah, we were struck by her genuine warmth, empathy, and laughter. She took time to listen and answer all of my questions with patience and understanding. She made me feel valued as a person. Her positive attitude and infectious smile helped to brighten the last two days I’ve been here.

One particular incident stands out. Sarah went above and beyond to help when I was in a lot of pain. She made sure that my pain was kept under control and I was comfortable. Her kindness and unwavering support exemplify the spirit of nursing and reflect the values of the DAISY Award.
