I am honored to nominate Sarah Taylor for the DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding dedication to patient advocacy, clinical judgment, and commitment to patient safety. During a weekend shift, Sarah identified a patient with symptoms of head trauma and felt strongly that the patient needed further evaluation and care in the Emergency Room. Sarah went above and beyond to ensure her patient received the necessary care. She recognized the symptoms, utilized her critical nursing judgement skills, and took immediate action to escalate concerns to the healthcare team. Her proactive approach ensured the patient received the care needed and helped prevent potential complications. In addition to exceptional clinical skills, Sarah demonstrated unwavering advocacy by persistently advocating for the patient to be assessed in the Emergency Room for his symptoms. Her persistence, professionalism, and compassion likely made a significant difference in the patient’s outcome. Patient safety is always a top priority for Sarah, and her attention to this patient's care exemplifies what it means to be an EXTRA-ORDINARY nurse. We are so proud to have you on our team.
