Sarah Torres, RN

I was working on Med/Surg6 one night. I had a very heavy and complicated team. Sarah, my supervisor, was rounding on me. I told her about one of my patients and without hesitation, she came into the room with me, helped me place an NG tube, and helped stay to monitor the patient at the bedside until I had adequate time to spend with him. I never asked her to help me but when she jumped in to help the patient, I was able to pass medications to my four other patients in a timely manner. The patient ended up transferring to a higher level of care and there was no way I would’ve ever caught up with all my tasks had it not been for Sarah. She is also one of the kindest and most helpful nurses or supervisors I ever had before. She deserves to be recognized.
