My daughter was admitted to the 9th floor due to DKA. She was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 7 years old but this was our first hospitalization since then. It was close to change of shift and Sarah was the oncoming nurse.
My daughter was a very sick little girl and though I was worried and scared, I felt safe with Sarah's wonderful care. She spent most of her shift at my daughter's bedside. When she wasn't in the room, she was on the phone with my daughter's doctor. Sarah cared for my daughter as though she was her own child.
My daughter commented several times how nice everyone was, especially Sarah. On a side note, Sarah not only did everything she could to take care of my daughter but she also made sure I was comfortable and informed with every aspect of her care. She was above and beyond and is a true asset to the Mayo System.
