It is very rare to find a nurse, let alone a person to show such empathy as Sarah did.
I wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge Sarah Willett, RN. Sarah was my dad's nurse while he was on 4 West in Critical Care. From the moment we arrived to 4 West, Sarah showed empathy and compassion not just to my dad, but to my mom and siblings. She kept us informed of what was going on with my dad, and after he was taken off the ventilator, she out of her way to keep the family informed that was waiting in the waiting area, as well as when he passed. After my dad passed, she answered our questions and did so with such compassion. I could not have asked for a better nurse to care for my dad in his final moments. It is very rare to find a nurse, let alone a person to show such empathy as she did. You can't teach that, and that is why I feel that she is the example of an Extraordinary Nurse. Thank you, Sarah, for all that you did for my dad, and our family.
