Sarah was nominated by a fellow colleage, K, for her kindhearted attitude and willingness to go to extraordinary measures for K's family. Sarah admitted K's young nephew to the Emergency Department in February 2013 and stayed well beyond her shift to see him off to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids via Aero Med. After the passing of her nephew, K said that Sarah not only remembered this difficult anniversary to the date, but sent flowers and a note of encouragement to the family. Sarah was certainly a "ray of sunshine on a very dark day" for K's family. Congratulations Sarah for demonstrating compassion by going well above and beyond what was expected.
