September 2026 Honoree
Sarah Zbikowski, BSN, RN, CPN
Sarah has been with my brother since the beginning. He and my mother were in an accident with an 18-wheeler. My mother passed away at the scene. My brother survived by some huge blessing. He was airlifted to this hospital and has been saved and treated ever since.
Sarah is just a light in the room. She takes my brother’s sassy ways, knowing he's growing tired of not knowing when or where home is. Every time she comes in the room his day gets a little better even though sometimes he doesn't want to show it but when he cracks a smile, her goal has been reached.
They share the same liking for Spider-Man. She showed up for his birthday, which was actually bittersweet to be in the hospital surrounded by people that genuinely care for him. Sarah obviously sang the loudest, and my brother pretended to be irritated by it, but at the end he smiled so big.
This job was meant for her. I can't thank her enough. I asked my brother on his birthday which nurse was his favorite, and we will nominate them for this award. Sarah deserves it.
Thank you, Sarah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
