“Nursing is a work of the heart.” I was admitted to the hospital. I had just been diagnosed with a weak heart, not to mention, I am terrified of hospitals. I didn’t know what to expect. I was blessed at 7:00 to have a wonderful nurse by the name of Sariah. Sariah came in quite cheerfully and introduced herself to me and my family. Upon her arrival, she noticed that I was scared/upset and instantly asked if everything was ok. I expressed to her that I was scared, and she assured me that they would take care of me. Sariah never missed a beat. She would come to check on me, in addition to checking my vitals. On the day of my stress test, I was so nervous, and she offered to pray with me. That’s one moment I’ll never forget. Sariah was also very knowledgeable about everything that she was doing. She also made sure we all had a clear understanding of everything. I thank God for Sariah being one of my nurses. I even started calling her “Girl” as if we had been friends for years. She made my first hospital experience a breeze.
