During my evening clinic visit, the assigned Nurse Saudabi approach me expressing her worry about one patient and told me, "Sorry to interrupt but one of the OPD patients is waiting for his turn to see you but he doesn't look well." I immediately referred the patient to ER to start management. Urgent assessment and investigation were done and revealed severe metabolic acidosis and dehydration (DKA), extremely critical condition. Immediate management has been provided in ER then admitted to ICU. Thanks to Ms. Saudabi who used her clinical sense and showed patient care to initiate this great chain of team work which lead to saving the life of the patient.
