Saundra Dominguez, RN, went out of her way to drive a patient's elderly wife home when she had no one else to depend on.
"Sandra was selfless in the offer of giving her a ride home," wrote her nominator. "The retirement community was out of her way, and after a long 12-hour shift, she was more than willing to help a woman in need."
Saundra's commitment to excellence does not stop at the patient's bedside.
"She takes a global approach to her care, and is not only a wonderful nurse to her patients, but to their families as well," her nominator said. "Saundra demonstrated model, outstanding, and compassionate family-centered care. I believe Saundra went above and beyond without thinking twice. She had empathy for that family member and took it upon herself to follow the golden rule."
