She is a leader in the clinic among nurses and is known fondly by all MDs and other staff from as far as I can tell.
Savannah goes above and beyond as our Anchor nurse for our resident team in Internal Medicine. She demonstrates true compassion and concern for patients. Patients of mine know Savannah's name because she reaches out to them about their healthcare needs, ensuring they have medication, health equipment, or additional services. I know I can depend on her to help me contact patients who urgently need to come to the clinic. She is dependable, efficient, and thorough. Our team and patients are extremely fortunate to work with her. - Rebecca, MD

Our clinic in the COH, which cares for indigent patients with the help of our medical residents under attending supervision, is divided into small anchor groups consisting of a cadre of 10 residents, one attending, and an anchor nurse. Savannah is our anchor nurse, and I am the attending. The anchor nurses’ responsibilities are myriad, and they include triage, handling prescriptions, troubleshooting narcotic prescriptions with the staff, obtaining social support and supplies for patients, and patient counseling and advocacy in coordination with the doctors. She truly is the anchor for our team, and she does this all with enthusiasm, equanimity, perseverance, hard work, and an attitude that facilitates a positive environment for teamwork and patient care.

Savannah is an amazing anchor RN. She has the ability to coordinate and manage hundreds of patients being taken care of by over a dozen doctors. She completed tasks quickly and thoroughly. Always seems to know the answer to our questions as residents, and this helps us learn and care for patients, thanks to spending less time figuring out nitty gritty behind-the-scenes details. Ultimately, without Savannah's patient care and outcomes in our clinic, I am confident would be significantly decreased. She is a leader in the clinic among nurses and is known fondly by all MDs and other staff from as far as I can tell. She is also extremely personable and has an amazing ability to talk to patients and explain things to them, making them feel heard, making the right medical judgments while also lightening the workload of the MDs.

As a new intern starting in the clinic, I have been so thankful for Savannah, who is my team’s nurse. She is always very on top of things and ensures that we are able to provide excellent care to our patients. In particular, I appreciate how organized and efficient she is with tasks and in-basket items. She has definitely eased my transition into being a primary care physician. Thank you to Savannah for her excellent work!
