October 2025 Honoree
Savannah A Tilley, RN
I unfortunately had to have a D&C for a miscarriage, and I'm thankful I had Savannah as an OR nurse. She showed me compassion and was really there for me on one of the worst days. As I hit the OR table I started sobbing and as Nurse myself I know there's a lot of things she probably needed to do to get the procedure ready to go.
fell asleepShe stopped, was compassionate and caring, rubbed my arm, and held my hand until I went to sleep. I don't think she realized how much I needed to know someone cared and realized what I was going through in that moment. She really helped me to feel comforted and find some peace, having someone there for me.
Thank you, Savannah. I'm so glad I got to meet you, and I will remember that you are amazing. I know, OR nurses don't always get recognition since patients usually go to sleep pretty quickly, hitting the OR, but know you matter and make a difference more than you know!
