I am honored to nominate Savannah Blake for the DAISY in Training Award in recognition of her exceptional performance during her Women’s Health rotation at Baptist. Savannah consistently demonstrated the ability to connect classroom theory to clinical practice. She is highly inquisitive and intentionally seeks to deepen her understanding by asking thoughtful questions and making meaningful connections in patient care. Her curiosity and commitment to learning set her apart as a motivated and engaged student nurse. During her rotation, Savannah was recognized by the Manager of Labor and Delivery at Baptist, Megan Seay, for her outstanding teamwork during an obstetrical emergency involving shoulder dystocia in one of her assigned patients. In this high-pressure situation, Savannah remained calm, composed, and focused. She kept her cool while actively participating in the healthcare team, demonstrating both confidence and professionalism. Savannah’s ability to stay grounded in a critical moment reflects strong clinical judgment and emotional maturity. She worked collaboratively, communicated effectively, and contributed positively to the team’s response, helping ensure safe patient care during a challenging event. In addition to her clinical strengths, Savannah shows genuine compassion for her patients.
