This nurse went above and beyond in her care of my mom. After a long 13 hours in the ER, my mom was moved to the 6th floor for stroke care. When my siblings and I arrived the morning after the move, Savannah introduced herself as my mom’s nurse. She not only introduced herself to us, but always kept us and my mom informed. She was compassionate, and when the anti-nausea meds that were being given to my mom did not help, she advocated for my mom with the doctors to get her what was needed. She provided exceptional care and even came in to assist with inserting my mom’s catheter when she was heading out for the night. She exhibited patience, care, concern, and attitude way above that of anyone else. When no other nurse could get Mom to cooperate, she found a way that made it look effortless, all with a smile and a sense of genuine care. She even stayed late when the nurse relieving her had trouble getting Mom to understand what she needed. This nurse is a bright beacon in a difficult time and a true DAISY Nurse.
