Savannah Orris, RN
I have been in this facility three times recently for surgeries, each stay lasting 4 to 5 days. Savannah was my nurse for a few days during both my first and last stays. She was more than perfect.
Sometimes we connect with people by chance, but other times we connect because someone is genuinely looking for a way to connect. That was Savannah for me. She listened and observed—paying attention to my facial expressions and body language. She read her patient with instinct, intelligence, and training, not just instruments and numbers.
She also assessed the needs of our family. She found a larger chair for my big, handsome husband and even located a cot for him during our first visit. On our third visit, which was only three weeks later, she remembered us and immediately began putting things in place again. Savannah has a very empathetic and compassionate spirit. She is intelligent, but that alone isn’t what makes her a good nurse—it’s the wholeness she brings.
She will be an exceptional nurse as she continues to grow. She is also a leader who will soon be able to help younger nurses learn and thrive.
