May 2023 Honoree
Savannah Rapp, RN I
I was admitted to T5 after a traumatic fall that left me with four broken ribs and a fractured clavicle. My day shift nurse, Savannah, was exceptional during my three day stay. Despite being a recently graduated RN, she was extremely professional, compassionate, and caring. She encouraged me to continue to progress in my recuperation so that I could go home. One evening, she took the time to get me up and walk in the halls, explaining that I needed to do that to prevent complications, even though I was reluctant due to the pain. During this time, Savannah was always patient and kind, with a great sense of humor. Even though she had many other patients, she made me feel like I was the only one. Savannah made my husband a part of my care team, explaining my medical conditions and encouraging him to spend as much time as he wanted at my bedside. Overall, Savannah made a scary and unpleasant situation into the best that it could be. I recommend Savannah and Reading Hospital! 10 out of 10!
Thank you, Savannah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
