Scott is an exceptional nurse and any patient he cares for is blessed to have his help.
Scott recently cared for one of my complex adult congenital heart patients in the Sparta ER and he provided exceptional compassionate care. This patient has Down syndrome, is non-verbal, is in end-stage heart failure, and came in looking quite ill with dehydration. Scott had great concern about the patient and when he spoke with me by telephone, he provided a comprehensive report of the patient's status. It was clear to me that Scott was engaged and committed to providing the best care to this individual.

We worked together by phone over the next 2 hours. Scott reported vitals and lab results to me. We discussed the patient's complex physiology and set of problems. With Scott's help, I was able to make informed medical decisions on how to best care for the patient remotely. Ultimately the patient was cleared to go home. What I found exceptional about Scott's care was how engaged he was in learning about the patient's condition, how willing he was to gather data and keep me informed, and how compassionately and thoroughly he cared for the patient. I have never met Scott in person, but felt we worked together like close team members with the common goal of offering complete, compassionate care to an ill, special needs adult patient. In my estimation, as a provider who has practiced for over 20 years, Scott is an exceptional nurse and any patient he cares for is blessed to have his help.
