Scott Nordschow, RN

While all the care provided to my father was outstanding, I would like to specifically nominate Scott Nordschow from the med-surg unit for the fantastic and passionate care he provided to my father during his hospitalization. My father is 84 years old, has Alzheimer's, is very hard of hearing, and was ill with a multitude of health problems. Scott was incredibly patient, caring, and understanding with my father. He always explained everything he was doing and why he was providing that specific therapy. He was gentle when moving my father and spoke loudly so that my father could hear and understand. My father pulled out his IV several times, and he was a very difficult stick. Scott used the ultrasound-guided IV device and was able to place a good line without causing pain to my father. Overall, the compassion, empathy, and care that Scott provided were exceptional. He deserves recognition for his outstanding nursing care!
