With my friend's persistence, I will be renting from a fellow employee, Scott Shimitz, and hope to move this month.
I am a new employee here and in November I lost my place of residence. Not knowing what to do for my family, I decided to open up to the right person, my old sixth-grade friend, whom I reconnected with her at Mercy. With the great heart she has, I asked her to pray for my family for guidance and support. Before I knew it she was telling me about the MercyOne loan program and the MercyOne foundation. She asked if she could talk to someone about my situation because Mercy is great about at helping their employees. Before I knew it I was introduced to someone who had me fill out the foundation application and she made a few phone calls. That's when I was introduced to Shanna Mueggenberg and I was able to explain my situation while they all listened without judgment. They both asked if my family was okay and if we had a place to stay for the time being and helped me out for the day. Even though I ended up not being eligible for the foundation gift I was approved for the loan program. Also, with my friend's persistence, I will be renting from a fellow employee, Scott Shimitz, and hope to move this month. I want to thank each one of you for the kind gestures and for stepping up and helping my family in our time of need. It's good to know there are still good people and good employees who understand life happens.
