We nominate one of our RNs who allowed a special young lady to shave his head in anticipation of having her hair clipped and shaved. Sean Capets, one of our oncology resource nurses, encouraged one of our 7 Main patients to familiarize herself with the hair clipping process by allowing her to shave his head. This patient is a nineteen year old female newly diagnosed with ALL. She is experiencing alopecia due to chemotherapy administration. Sean realized how difficult losing her hair must be for this young lady. In spite of her attempts to shave his head, he still needed to see a professional barber to correct some imperfections. The patient giggled and became at ease throughout the experience.

This event could have been very traumatic for this nineteen year old woman, but Sean helped to be supportive in her healing process. For this reason, we nominate him for this award and we appreciate his contribution.
