Sebastian
Libertino
,
CRNA, RN
I recently underwent two surgeries at Pelham Medical Center, and both surgeries I was fortunate enough to have been assigned the same CRNA, Sebastian Libertino.
After a career in Naval Aviation, 24 years flying high-performance fighters off ships at sea, my body has taken a beating, resulting in years of multiple surgeries, procedures, etc. I have yet to encounter any medical professional on the level of Sebastian.
This nurse is the epitome of a professional, dedicated, friendly medical professional who exudes excellence. From start to finish, Sebastian looked after me, ensuring my comfort and giving me confidence.
He is the only medical professional I have ever had who checked in with me after leaving the hospital and stayed in touch as a friend, ensuring that I was doing well. Sebastian is clearly a team player and a professional nurse of the highest caliber.
While all of the nurses I encountered during my two surgeries at Pelham Medical, I can't think of anyone who would honor the Barnes Family more as a recipient of the DAISY Award than Sebastian. He, in my eyes, not only meets all of the attributes they felt deserving of this prestigious award but clearly exceeds these qualities in all areas considered.
As a retired military officer, I understand not only professionalism, but I feel I am an expert on teamwork and excellence, having spent my entire adult life as a professional aviator, including serving as a pilot with the world-renowned Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron It is crystal clear in my eyes that Sebastian has obviously dedicated his life to pursuing excellence on a daily basis.
From my first encounter with him, it was obvious to me that he settles for nothing less than uncompromising excellence. He completely put me at ease during both procedures and reassured me that my life was in good hands.
His professional care and commitment to excellence I feel clearly set him apart from his peers and makes him an ideal candidate for and most deserving of this special honor.
