I'm pretty sure she didn't even take her break.
I am happy to nominate Sebe for a DAISY Award. I received the best care when I underwent a cardiac ablation at Union Memorial. From the minute I entered the unit, I was treated as if I were her only patient. She was kind, pleasant, and caring. I was at ease the entire time I was there. Everything was fully explained to me, and all my questions were answered. I've been nervous about this procedure because my A-fib has remained persistent after other interventions elsewhere had failed. Once I was referred to Dr. M, I knew I was in good hands. Apparently, all the staff chosen to work in the unit embrace the mission as well. It is such a comfort for a patient to be treated with so much compassion. Sebe stayed with me the entire time and kept my sister, who accompanied me, informed of every step of my care as well. I'm pretty sure she didn't even take her break. She also stayed past her shift in order to discharge me. I have never been a patient at Union Memorial, but it won't be the last time. I'm so grateful for the excellent care given to me by Sebe. She went above and beyond what would be expected the entire day. Sebe is a treasure and has a bright future ahead. I came into Union Memorial for multiple health issues at such a young age. I am very emotional, and when Sebreonia came in to introduce herself to me, I was crying and very emotional. This nurse talked me into staying in the hospital to get better care. She was very open and understanding of my conditions and took the time to listen to me. I feel heard and honored to have a nurse like her. She continues to check on me throughout the night and makes sure I have everything that I need. She explained to me what the plan was for my care while in the hospital and even went into detail about my medications. Sebreonia made sure to include my family in open discussions and answered all my questions and concerns. She is an exceptional nurse who should be awarded each and everyday for how she handles herself as a nurse and a young nurse at that! I feel so much better physically and emotionally, and I want to point her out for showing that she cares and loves what she does. I can tell that she will go far in life based on how she treats others. She made sure I was comfortable. Even when I continued to call nonstop for things I needed, she worked diligently to make sure that I was doing well. Thank you for hugging me when I needed one. Thank you for listening to me and being able to discuss my plans for my health with my family and me. I thank you wholeheartedly for being such an amazing nurse.
