Serena has been our nurse multiple times during our stay with our son in the ICU. She is extremely proactive and anticipates the needs of our son and doesn't hesitate to bring concerns to the attending physician when applicable. She also is an advocate for us, the parents, and listens to our concerns and does what she can so the physicians and NPs can hear our voice. In addition, what we really liked about Serena is the way she plans her shift and is on a mission to get our son to our end goal of home!
Each and every day Serena lays out what she wants to do; when to flip him, get in the chair, put him on his stomach, etc., and always makes sure we were okay with it. We are very active parents in our son's care at home and whenever he's in the hospital, we want to know the plan and goals for the day and she does that on every shift. She reassures us that our son is going to be well taken care of while on her watch.
We want to thank Serena and her outstanding work while taking care of our son and she is a tremendous asset to the ICU trauma unit.
