I just want you all to know that she is the type of nurse that you always hope for whenever you have to be in the hospital. She has a no-nonsense kind of humor that's oozing with caring and kindness. She’s knowledgeable but down-to-earth and human. The fact that she cared for both myself and my mom, who came to visit and take care of me during this time, was everything to me. She got my mom a little something to eat because she knew my mom didn’t want to leave my side for nothing. She also got a chair and moved it into the room so both my mom and I would be comfortable. That made me know that God was watching over us with Serena’s presence and giving me more courage to push myself through the pain and uncomfortableness to do more. I love her. A credit to the word NURSE and I know plenty, I work for BCBSM. She called me “sleeping beauty” because the meds knocked me right out, but she seemed to be there to get me together and encouraged me to walk. She ROCKS!
