Sergey displayed consistent empathy, caring, and kindness to Mom. He was respectful and sought to answer every question she had to the best of his knowledge.
Sergey brings exceptional care and teamwork every day. He demonstrates excellent communication skills with interdisciplinary team members, shows empathy and compassion for his patients, uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and shows attention to detail. However, what stands out to me every day is his calm, reassuring presence to patients and members of the treatment team. His even-tempered, hardworking, and flexible personality traits contribute to a positive work environment.

Sergey was my mother’s nurse every single evening she was on H7000. When mom returned from surgery, he was so good at explaining everything to mom. Even if it had to be explained more than once due to surgery and anesthesia. Sergey displayed consistent empathy, caring, and kindness to Mom. He was respectful and sought to answer every question she had to the best of his knowledge. Sergey, you are awesome, and we are so grateful for your care. Keep doing what you are doing!

I was taken by ambulance from the Hastings Allina Emergency Room and admitted to Abbott Hospital. I was in need of urgent heart testing, stress checks, and blood work.
During my stay, there was one RN nurse who provided me with exceptional care. His name was Sergey Melnikov. He took excellent and considerate care of me for two of his shifts, which I wanted to recognize.
Later, I mentioned to Sergey that my back hurting and extremely painful from lying on the hospital bed for so long. I needed to sit up to relieve the pain, but unfortunately, there was only a small chair in my room. It was very uncomfortable, especially for someone with chronic back pain. A few minutes later, what do I see? Sergey was coming into my room, pushing a big recliner! This chair was exactly what I needed as it helped to ease my pain, and I was able to now sit up comfortably.
In addition, Sergey also made sure to keep me in the loop about various procedures that were going on. One example that I remember, was an ultrasound that he did to check my bladder. He explained what he was seeing as he conducted it, and all of this was very good information. It has a calming effect on me.
Sergey is an excellent nurse. He is a great asset to United Hospital and its nursing staff. I definitely wanted to take a few minutes to document his contributions to making my stay at United Hospital, a better place to receive patient care.
