As a wound care nurse here at BH, I've had the opportunity to interact with nurses from all the floors and units. I believe we are lucky to have some of the best people in our field working here. This nomination has been a while coming, but I had a family member admitted to the CVICU last year, who, unfortunately, ended up passing away. The nurses in the unit were wonderful. My family couldn't have asked for a better crew, but there was one that stood out from all the rest.
Sergio didn't just stand out because he is a great nurse, he stood out because he is a great person. Ever since then, I have had the pleasure of witnessing him in his role and he never fails to be that kind, caring nurse. Every now and then, there is a nurse that shines a little bit brighter than the rest. Sergio shines bright not because he has to put forth an effort, but because it comes from within. I can see him going on and doing great things in our field. He is such a great role model for new nurses and a reminder of what nursing truly is about for those of us that have been around for a while. We are truly blessed to have him apart of our team.
