Seth advocated for him, he stood his ground with different providers, and he assured me that his main concern was my husband.
My husband was admitted to the ICU. He stayed there until his passing, and Seth was his nurse for most of his hospital stay. Constantly getting the same nurse for that period of time isn’t usual, and I know that because I am a nurse myself. I felt like he was appointed by God. During our stay, Seth advocated for him, he stood his ground with different providers, and he assured me that his main concern was my husband. The outcome never looked promising for my husband, but Seth came and told me he wasn’t ready to give up on him and throw in the towel just yet. My husband made improvements in some areas and had setbacks in others. But I wholeheartedly believe that he wouldn’t have made it as far as he did had it not been for Seth and his critical thinking and compassionate care. Seth let me know that whatever I wanted to do with my husband, he would support me, but he would always be honest with me about his thoughts. My husband was eventually able to wake up from sedation, and we were able to communicate through blink commands, head nods, and head shakes. Although he was never able to speak, I’m forever grateful for that. I don’t believe I would have been able to experience that if it hadn't been for Seth. He never made me feel like “what’s the point”, he just supported me. I have two small children, and I told Seth I will always tell them about the wonderful man who rooted for their dad. This world is a better place because of Seth.
