This year’s DAISY Team is a unique group of highly skilled nurses who provide 24/7 services to victims of violence. These nurses are called upon to help a patient in crisis, and they bring the professional practice model to life by advocating for and building a relationship with their patient. They represent multiple areas of the hospital, brought together by a shared passion for helping our community.
Each nurse has received unique training in Clinical Forensics and demonstrates exemplary skills and techniques necessary to document evidence of injury and assault. In addition, members of this team go above and beyond their day-to-day duties at Washington Hospital to periodically testify in court cases. Evidence collected by this team was crucial in sentencing multiple offenders over the past few years.
This Team is dedicated to practicing at the highest standard and providing necessary services to members of the community. We congratulate the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)!
