- Team Initiated Project: BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT FOR ORTHOSTATIC HYPOTENSION lead by the team involving the unit manager Mrs. Aileen, Deepa CNC, Richelle CN, Neethu CN and it was developed as an improvement project of N2S. Implemented by all clinical nurses for fall prevention. As a result, quarter 4 of 2023 until present the unit has been sustaining fall-free incidents.
- Fall prevention Leaf to alert all healthcare staff that patients are at risk for falls attached to patients' doors. QR codes posted in the unit to disseminate fall prevention protocols.
- Initiation of EXTRAVASATION KIT as a proactive approach for the management of extravasations for handling cytotoxic medications. Teamed by all clinical nurses in collaboration with head of Oncology Department (Dr. Osama), Chief of Pharmacy (Dra Rania), Quality Managers and Chief Nursing officer (Mr. Ramzi) Shared to all units catering chemotherapy patients like N2N, N4S, and Day case.
- An extravasation Kit with a checklist distributed to all units catering to chemotherapy patients.
- N2S initiated the Charging Capture Project in collaboration with our CNO, Mr. Ramzi, Mr. Mumtaz, and our Unit Manager, Mrs. Aileen, wherein charging forms were revised for cases like Lap sleeve gastrectomy, lap cholecystectomy, and Caesarian Section. This approach aimed to prevent OVERCHARGING and PACKAGE LOSS.
- Upholds the mission of Saudi German Health by delivering compassionate person-centered care to all patients, as evidenced by outperforming domains ( how well pain was addressed, and responding to concerns and complaints).
- INTEGRITY- N2S clinical nurses have the quality being honest and have strong moral principles, such as reporting incidents like medication errors and any incidences affecting patient safety.
- RESPECT- respects diversity of culture as we have a total 7 nationalities for clinical nurses and ward secretary (Saudi, Filipino, Indian, Sudanese, Lebanese, Jordanian, and Egyptian). Moreover, we have various patient populations (Arabs and Non Arabs). Respect is being shown by ratifying their culture, values, and beliefs as long as it will not have a negative effect on their health and safety.
- RESPONSIBILITY- Each staff member is held accountable for their actions by taking ownership of their mistakes and correcting them. We implement a modular approach in each patient assignment to ensure continuity of responsibility from patients’ admission until discharge.
- FAMILY AND PEOPLE CENTRIC CULTURE- in SGH Aseer, our clients are not only patients but we also take care of their families and relatives by providing patient and family education with regards to patient’s health condition to ensure speedy recovery.
- PASSION AND DEDICATION- We give EXTRAORDINARY CARE in N2S, in each DAISY CELEBRATION we have always a nominee from the unit and recently we have the 2024 Quarter 3 HONOREE Ms. Rawaa Ragab as a recipient and our nurse manager Mrs. Ma. Aileen Nantes was the recipient of NURSE LEADER of 2022.
- EDUCATION AND INNOVATION- We support the Continuous professional development of the clinical nurses by 100% compliance of Lippincott assignments, Learning management system, In-service trainings and updating monthly educational corners according to scope of practice. We adhere to evidence-based practices in our daily nursing care.
- TRUST- N2S clinical nurses practice transparency and honesty by consistently modeling trustworthy behavior by using mindfulness and focused presence techniques as a basis for resolving problems and enhancing communication. Building rapport is a prerequisite to ensure alignment of nursing practice delivered to each patient. Some patients and their relatives would always choose our unit as trust was already established from the previous admissions, and they have been cared for like a family.
