We have a patient with a complicated monkey pox case. This patient has been in our unit for almost 4 weeks. He has remained in his room in isolation with minimal contact with anyone or anything. It’s been a struggle mentally on him and the staff. It has also been tough to get a good cleaning in his room. Shahira had a great idea to bring him outside and let him get some sun, and fresh air and let EVS get in his room to do a good top to bottom clean. The patient was extremely grateful and spread his arms and took a deep breath of fresh air. This helps make all the difference in his mental state and healing process. It helps him realize we care about his well-being.
