I normally work on the tele floor that does not administer cardiac drips. I was pulled to PCU and became anxious as one of my patients was on a Cardizem drip. Shailaja took time after getting report on her own team, to help and teach me. She started by telling me what to look for, and what she would do first, next, etc. Most importantly, she said, "Don't worry, I am here next to you. I will help you." This was very comforting to know that she was willing to help despite having her own busy team. I am grateful for the experience because not only was I feeling supported, I learned something new! Shailaja made my day so much better just by being the nurse right next to me in the hallway. I hope if I am ever pulled back to PCU I have an opportunity to work with Shailaja.
