I was admitted into the hospital for a severe infection. Shaina went out of her way to listen to my concerns and what I would like to see happen. She sat down with me, and we went through everything in detail, letting me choose what I wanted to do. She recommended what would be best for me. She was the most helpful, sweet, kind, and compassionate nurse I’ve had during my stay. This was my first hospital stay, and I was by myself as my husband was many hours away. She made me feel valued and appreciated. She didn’t just treat me like a patient. She treated me as a friend. She dedicated herself to me in making sure that I was receiving the utmost care. For example, I was having complications with an IV that had been placed in the ER. As well as others were having issues retrieving blood for bloodwork. So, she thought about it and came back with the plan to add a Midline to ease the process for everyone. She thought outside the box and made sure patient care was put first.
