Shaina Kowalick received three nominations for the DAISY Award. One nomination commented on her excellent bedside manner. The second nomination from a patient's husband expressed his appreciation and satisfaction with the care provided. He also stated that she had a great relationship with his wife and other family members, and was so grateful for the extra effort she spent helping the patient get ready to celebrate Easter with her family visiting. A third nomination wrote, "Shaina was the kindest, most attentive loving nurse. Whenever my wife needed a person to hold her hand and listen to her, just be a friend, Shaina was there. It is the extraordinary attitude she has, minute by minute, that makes her so wonderful. I never felt guilty asking her to help my wife. I love her."
