I've been battling renal cancer for the past nine years and have had extensive hospital stays during this time, including a thirty-eight-day stay in ICU for COVID-19.
My recent visit to Encompass was to help me regain the use of my legs. When I arrived at your facility, I was depressed and felt useless.
The staff was courteous and helpful but did little to help with my depression.
My attitude changed when Nurse Khimani took me under her wing. In addition to her professional skills, I found in her a very caring and professional nurse. Her personal regard for the needs of others left a warm feeling for someone who was willing to help me recover.
If I were in OT or sitting on the outside patio, Nurse Khimani traveled on down and made certain I took my chemotherapy at the same time daily. In my opinion, she deserved public recognition for skilled nursing accomplishments. I walk again and feel good about myself, thanks to her.
