Shale Shivangili, MSN, RN

Shale Shivangili has been the manager of the 6th and 7th floor in the MedSurg/Tele Unit for one and a half years. She hit the ground running and had to work very hard to embrace her role and understand the complexities and uniqueness of the Kaiser system. The Nurse Manager is one of the hardest jobs as they are responsible for change, influence, and accountability among a large number of staff members. Managing one department is difficult, but it is much harder when managing two departments. Shale has assumed this oversite with a smile and gracefulness. She has built her leadership team and filled all the vacancies for Assistant Nurse Manager positions. In addition, she has worked hard to fill the staff vacancies in both departments. Staff feels Shale is resourceful, present, and visible and they value her support and oversight. Her people pulse employee scores have increased since she has assumed this responsibility. I am so pleased to nominate Shale for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. It is so deserving for her to receive.
