It’s always hard to lose a loved one. It’s even harder watching your soulmate and love of your life die. My husband came in on a Saturday because he couldn’t swallow. By the end of the week, he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. I stayed with him every night. Shana, the nurse on call, made sure we had everything we needed, not only for my husband, but she made sure I got the rest I needed. There were times that she came in and sat next to me, comforting me, holding my hand, and giving me strength when I needed it.
Our whole family wants to thank her for her compassion and dedication. She went above and beyond the call of a nurse. Every nurse during this week has been wonderful. They’ve all been our guardian angels. Thank you, Shana Cross.
