We brought our father in for a surgical procedure that had complications. The nurses and doctors were very diligent in watching my Dad come out of the anesthesia. His blood oxygen would not stabilize and kept dropping to the low 80s, and Shana was there with comforting words and kept trying different options to help him breathe easier. She was on top of every change in his condition and caught the sepsis right as it started. She alerted the Septic team and within minutes had every department there working on my Dad. It was a very scary time, and she was there with us through it all.

The whole day was exhausting, and Shana was there checking on my Dad, my sister, and me every step of the way. Very impressive care, and we so appreciate her care. My Dad had a cystoscopy, and it was scheduled as an outpatient. The doctor had said he could go home as soon as his oxygen levels came up. Shana was diligent in watching them. She put him back to bed and wanted him to nap, then try taking the oxygen off. My sister and I took that opportunity to go to the cafeteria to get something to eat. Shana sent someone down to get us, as he now had a fever, and his blood pressure was very high. When we got back to the room, they were calling a Sepsis alert. Everyone did a great job, but we are especially thankful to Shana for keeping him there, so he was right where he needed to be when it happened and could be addressed immediately.
