Shandra is always awesome. She has been one of my daughter's primary nurses for over 2 years and dozens of admissions. When she is not caring for my daughter directly, she is often in charge of the unit or supervising new grad nurses who are caring for my daughter.
Shandra continually strives to serve her patients and her unit by improving her skills and sharing her knowledge with others. She is the go-to nurse for patients with behavioral issues and her gentle strength and patience helps to de-escalate situations.
Shandra is an outstanding patient advocate. If my daughter is having pain, or her physician on a given day isn't bearing a concern that we have, Shandra does an excellent job of helping that physician to understand our concerns without making that person angry or defensive.
We know that when Shandra is on duty, my daughter's physical and emotional needs will be well attended to. Shandra is a natural leader and I believe that she will be a pioneer for other nurses.
