Upon meeting Shanley with her infectious smile, I knew my father was comfortable in her care. Shanley always projected a positive attitude, which made my dad smile throughout the day. She even managed to laugh at my dad's dry humor (a comedian he is not). The fact that my dad felt comfortable enough to joke around with Shanley, made me realize that his mind was not focused on being ill. She not only made sure that my dad was comfortable, she made sure we were too. Shanley advocated for us with the physician to ensure all our concerns were addressed. She took time out of her busy day to visit us in SICU, offering us her continued support. To say Shanley goes "above and beyond" her call of duty is an understatement.
