May 2024 Honoree
Shannon Diosi, RN
My heart was racing, I had broken out in a cold sweat, my temperature was 101, I was septic. Shannon saw my heart racing on the monitor and came in to check on me. She wasn't the nurse who was assigned to me that day. I honestly was in a panic, mostly because my mom had passed in September of 2015 from being septic. Shannon did not know this about my mom, but she calmed me down. She traded with the nurse who was assigned to me that day. She kept reassuring me the whole day, keeping me calm, and I'm so glad that she traded. She showed me so much kindness and compassion the whole rest of the day. She truly was my hero that day.
Thank you, Shannon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
