While working a day shift with Shannon, I observed her handle a very challenging patient assignment with extraordinary skill, grace, compassion, and leadership. Her actions truly embodied what the nursing profession strives for: professionalism, caring, and service to others. Her actions exemplified the GCRMC values of professionalism, respect, innovation, dedication, and engagement. Even though she was in a stressful situation, she maintained a positive attitude. I was very proud to call myself her coworker on this day, very proud of her care for the patient and family, and very impressed with her skill and professionalism at the bedside. She truly is what our hospital stands for and deserves recognition for her service.
