My dad was under Hospice care until the time of his death in October. Shannon was one of his nurses. As you can imagine, this was a very stressful time for my dad, and the family. I cannot adequately describe the difference Shannon made to him, and my family. Not only did she take care of his needs during this time, but she went out of her way to comfort my dad (and us) during our time of losing him. Her care and concern were WAY above just doing her job, and this is what made her stand out above all the other staff at this time. She took time to hold his hand and talk to him as a person. Always respectful, never condescending, always honest, and with genuine love and care for people whom she had never even met previously. This type of compassion stood out to us as someone who actually cared and was not there just to draw a paycheck.

I have had a lot of dealings with Health Care Providers (Doctors, Nurses, Etc..) as I have health issues myself. This is one VERY SPECIAL Nurse, one VERY SPECIAL person. I hope you will consider her for this award. This really bad situation was made better, because of Shannon.
