March 2022 Honoree
Shannon Hassett Harville, DNP, APRN, RN, FNP-BC, CEN
Shannon is herself, a Type-1 diabetic, and has made it her life's work to help every diabetic patient she encounters and develop initiatives to help others indirectly. She makes time for each diabetic patient, and their support persons, to try to help educate and advocate for them. Recently she treated a team member that was in DKA for the first time and he expressed extreme gratitude for her care, education, and compassion she provided him in his time of need.
She recently completed her doctorate as a nurse practitioner and dreams of working with diabetics in an outpatient setting and fighting for improved care at all stages of the disease. She truly exemplifies how extraordinary nurses can be!
