Shannon LaPlante, RN, MSN-Ed

Shannon was nominated by a co-worker who wanted to recognize her for the compassion and clinical excellence she demonstrated while caring for a Veteran who was facing a potential life-ending diagnosis. During an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, Shannon went above and beyond to ensure the Veteran felt seen, heard, and supported. Shannon created moments of comfort and humanity by sitting with the Veteran, listening and offering reassurance during difficult conversations. Shannon was a consistent and calming presence and made a lasting impact not only on the Veteran but also on their loved ones and care team.
