I came to the hospital seven days ago and was told I have cancer. I was very confused by all the doctors saying different things. For days I was very upset, depressed, and confused. Finally, I was told I would need surgery or chemo for cancer. The doctors were coming in one at a time making me very confused. I had a breakdown. My nurse, Shannon Lowman, went out of her way by being a third party and explaining everything to me. Shannon also explained my confusion to the doctors. She helped me through the hardest time of my life. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t know what I would have done. She has so much compassion, and her patients are the number one thing to her.

Thank you, Shannon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
