Shannon's display of patience, knowledge, empathy, and compassion throughout this process has been outstanding.
Shannon Morris is the Clinical Coordinator of Cheyenne Dialysis Center. When she took on this role her team was beyond happy with the GFA’s decision as she is a true example of an advocate for patients and teammates. When a champion role is vacated, Shannon picks it up until it is filled. An example of this is the AAM role. She took this over right before COVID-19 arrived to the U.S. Shannon was one of the first RNs to volunteer to work in the Las Vegas COVID-19 Positive Cohort. Where she spent every Saturday since the pandemic started. While working at the cohort she has always been positive and accommodating to patients, teammates, hospital employees, and physicians. She is extremely upbeat. Additionally, Shannon became the CWOW Lead for her facility. Her display of patience, knowledge, empathy, and compassion throughout this process has been outstanding. She has worked extended hours to ensure her facility was ready for CWOW order entries and then “Go Live”. Shannon is tireless- she was the first RN to raise her hand to work at the cohort clinic over 2 years. She began with DaVita in a per-diem position helping out clinics and then took the CC position at Cheyenne. She helps everyone and everywhere she can. She is thoughtful, full of compassion, and a leader. She handles tough situations with patients and teammates always without excuse. She fills in all the gaps. A solid Mission and Value Fit with a sincere calmness about her. She leads by example and is a true “nurse’s nurse”. She is definitely the nurse you want caring for you or your family. A true Shining Star for us in DaVita, Las Vegas, and the nursing community!
