Shannon started her nursing journey in 2011 by obtaining a Nursing Assistant License. She worked as an LNA in a memory care facility while continuing her education to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. After that, Shannon decided to continue working in a skilled nursing facility while attending college for her Associate's Degree in Nursing. In order to gain more nursing skills and knowledge, she worked for four years in a Cardiovascular Surgical Unit, while working toward her Bachelor's Degree. Shannon's ultimate dream was to work with cancer patients. Now she is employed at Elliot Radiation Oncology. Her mother was the reason that she began this journey, through her battle with cancer. Sadly, her mother lost her battle with cancer. Shannon decided to continue her education in honor of her mother and began classes at the American College of Education for Masters in Nursing Leadership. Adversity and challenges brought her to this point in her career. Her ultimate focus is to give back to cancer patients with compassion and provide the best care through the constant seeking of information through education.
